WHO KASSQUIT IS
Kassquit is a Big Ugly (the Race's derogatory nickname for humans: they also call them Tosevites) who was taken from China after the cease-fire with the US, USSR, and the Reich, and raised to be as close to the Race as was possible. Culturally she considers herself one of the Race, but biologically she is human - this, however, causes strife within herself because she is all too aware of the key differences. She can be both bluntly forthright and naive. Kassquit's mother/father figure is one of the Race called "Ttomalss", a researcher trying to find out how to best introduce the Big Uglies into the Race's Empire. She is considered the very first Tosevite citizen of the Race's Empire - only they're finding out that "civilizing" Tosevites is much more difficult than the other conquered species because of the human inclination for constant change and round-the-clock sexuality, instead of the Race's brief mating seasons.

Personality wise - she, again, is at war with both her selves. Kassquit has also developed a drive to be recognized as an independent individual of the Empire instead of merely an experimental Tosevite animal and has a way with barbing her words in a way that surprises those of the Race, such as Ttomalss and the other researchers. She regards those closest to her with some degree of jealousy when they draw away attention or affection from her, such as Ttomalss and also Jonathan Yeager, but struggles to understand these feelings of jealousy. She is noted to be intelligent by certain members of the Race but also described as "unhinged-but-could-be-worse" by humans such as the Yeagers. Her manners are generally very blunt and straight forward, and she doesn't seem to care for the sneaking around that normal humans do. For years she's wished she could be turned into a Race female, hating her biology and how different it makes her from the others she knows. After meeting the Yeagers, she finds that she may have some differing opinions; that said, her first taste of attraction/love to a wild Tosevite left her bitter, confused, and struggling to understand it from the perspective of someone raised as the Race. That is, the Race do not have bonded pairs or family units, and instead place far more emphasis on the bonds between friends than blood. At times she feels that she cannot control her emotions as well as she should compared to her alien "family".

WHAT KASSQUIT LOOKS LIKE
A young Chinese woman, wearing the body paint of a Junior Researcher of the Race. She usually runs around as nude as proper members of the Race do, but recently has decided to indulge in being a Big Ugly herself and has started growing out her hair instead of shaving it off. She's describedby the Yeagers as being attractive despite her previous hairlessness. It's only after her experiments with Jonathan Yeager that she decides to grow out her hair. In canon she decides she "likes how it frames her face" after getting used to it being there at all.

Additionally she is stated as having very limited mobility in her facial expressions: she generally will react like the Race by making the same gestures and will laugh like them as well (a silent laugh involving dropping the jaw). Sometimes she will do the outloud laugh of Tosevites but usually when she can't help it. Most of her expressions will be in the eyes or when her human body betrays her instinctively.

WORLDWAR - The premise is that aliens called "the Race" probe Earth and decide it's ripe for invasion and colonization...under the assumption that when the conquest fleet arrives, humans will still be riding around in the Middle Ages. They have a rude awakening when they arrive at Tosev 3/Earth and it's in the middle of World War II. The Race attacks anyway, sending global events changing drastically from what they would have been previously. They first attack with nukes and, after one of their grounded ships is attacked by the Germans with "Dora", inadvertently give the USSR, Germany, and the USA the materials needed to accelerate atomic production into their own "explosive metal weapons"/nukes. This ends up giving these countries the leverage to force a cease-fire between them and the Race, and force them to be recognized as near-equals.

The Race is a species of aliens who look like children-sized lizards with swiveling eye turrets. They speak in hisses and squeaks, and have conquered two worlds. They install change in very small increments, often not seen in an individual's lifetime. They are shocked at how fast humans change. Just as the Race calls Tosevites Big Uglies, humans also call them Lizards. When the Race attack during WWII, they are about the level of 1990's Earth, more or less, excepting their space travel capabilities.

Kassquit is from twenty years after the Race's invasion, during the 1960s when the colonization fleet arrives after the conquest fleet. She is taken after the Third Reich attacks and is defeated by the Race, but before the Race finds out which country launched nukes at the colonization fleet.
